Chess coach Marcus Schmücker, with a FIDE rating of 2246, is based in Iserlohn, Germany. As a professional A-trainer of DSB, he began his chess journey at the age of 15. At that time, there were very few coaches available, and Marcus learned chess on his own, which eventually inspired him to become a coach himself. He is an experienced player, having played over 13,000 blitz games with a rating of 2294, and 885 classical games with a rating of 2384. Ich bin professioneller A-Trainer des DSB. Mit Ende 15 habe ich mit Schach angefangen und es hat mich nicht mehr losgelassen. Da es in dieser Zeit so gut wie keine Trainer gab (ich bin 49), musste ich mir alles selber beibringen. Das war aber mit der Grund, warum ich selber als Trainer angefangen habe.
