In September 2024, the 45th World Chess Olympiad took place in Budapest. The Armenian women's team secured fifth place, while Elina Danielyan and Anna Sargisyan won bronze medals on the third and fourth boards respectively.

Shant Sargsyan's Successes in International Tournaments
The Armenian grandmaster Shant Sargsyan showed outstanding results in 2024. In December, he was among the leaders of the Qatar Masters Open in Doha, scoring 4.5 points out of 5 possible. He also secured victories at the World Rapid Chess Championship in New York, defeating such titled players as Vasily Ivanchuk and Anish Giri.
