Sarah Longson is an accomplished chess coach and Woman FIDE Master (WFM) based in Cheshire, United Kingdom. She began her chess journey at the age of seven and quickly made a name for herself by winning the U7 Girls UK Chess Challenge, which led to an appearance on the popular children's television show, Blue Peter, alongside chess legend Garry Kasparov. Sarah made her mark in international chess by debuting for England at the Women's Olympiad in 2010, where she maintained an impressive unbeaten record with a score of 7.5 out of 9. In 2013, she further solidified her status as a top competitor by becoming the British Ladies Champion.
Currently, Sarah is the driving force behind the UK Chess Challenge, where she passionately leads chess training sessions aimed at fostering young talent. With a focus on nurturing the next generation of chess players, she uses her extensive experience in tournaments and her strategic expertise to provide insightful coaching. Sarah supports her students in various formats and has played over 1,500 blitz games, achieving a remarkable rating of 2148, and has solved 1,777 puzzles with a peak rating of 2520.
Sarah offers her lessons in English and is keen to share her love for the game with students of all ages. With coaching sessions tailored to individual needs, she creates an engaging and supportive environment for learning.

In 2010 I made my England Women Olympiad Debut and scored 7.5/9 (unbeaten)
In 2013 I became British Ladies Champion.
I now run the UK Chess Challenge and offer chess training sessions to children.
